Some mornings I wake up ready to conquer the world. Other mornings? I’m surviving on dry shampoo and Jesus.
Dry shampoo is one of those little lifesavers. It hides the mess, gives me just enough confidence to keep moving, and reminds me that perfection isn’t the goal—showing up is. But the truth is, no amount of dry shampoo can hold me together like Jesus does.
Because here’s the thing: Jesus doesn’t require me to have it all together before I come to Him. He meets me in the messy mornings, in the rushed schedules, in the coffee-stained sweatshirts, and even in the moments when dry shampoo is doing more work than it probably should. His strength fills in the gaps where my strength runs out. His grace doesn’t just cover the big failures; it covers the small, ordinary struggles that make up everyday life.
Determination isn’t about flawless hair, spotless routines, or picture-perfect mornings. It’s about showing up when you’d rather hide. It’s about trusting that God is still writing your story, even when you’re running behind. It’s about knowing that He doesn’t measure your worth by your productivity or your polish, but by the fact that you’re His.

Some days you’ll be latte in hand, blowout blessed, feeling steady and strong. Other days, you’ll be dry-shampooed and praying your way through the chaos. Both count. Both matter. Both are proof that you kept going.
Because at the end of the day, dry shampoo might keep my hair in place, but Jesus is the one who keeps my heart in place. And that’s what determination really looks like.
“But the Lord said to me, ‘My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.’ So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me.”(2 Corinthians 12:9, ERV)
And sometimes, that’s all the determination you need.
