Becoming a Boss Babe who Brunches

I always wanted to be a woman who brunches, a boss babe who brunches, to be exact. To me, a boss babe who brunches isn’t about power suits or mimosas on Instagram. It’s about being a woman who shows up with confidence, leads with grace, and makes room at the table for others to be seen and heard. It’s about knowing that success doesn’t have to be loud or flashy; sometimes, it looks like coffee, casseroles, and conversations that strengthen your soul.

I’ve sat at plenty of church brunches where the decorations were nothing more than a roll of Dollar Tree tablecloth and a stack of paper plates. But let me tell you, those rooms held more grace and laughter than the fanciest setups money could buy. Because what really matters is the space created. A space to breathe, to share, to pray, and to remind one another we’re not walking through life alone.

Brunch is where stories spill out between bites of casserole. It’s where prayer requests get whispered and lifted before the coffee even cools. It’s where someone who felt heavy walking in the door leaves with a lighter spirit because she was heard and loved.

A boss babe who brunches knows that leadership doesn’t always look like standing at a podium or sitting in a boardroom. Sometimes it looks like setting the table, pouring the coffee, and creating a space where women feel safe enough to let their guard down. It’s being the kind of friend who notices when someone needs encouragement, and the kind of sister in Christ who reminds others that they are not alone.

Here are a few of my favorite Dollar Tree Chic brunch tips. Setting the table keeps you from stressing over big, fussy centerpieces. A few simple place settings make everything feel full and inviting. Seasonal touches like napkins, paper plates, or small décor pieces bring in the beauty of the season, pumpkins in the fall, and florals in the spring without breaking the budget. The food can even double as décor; a colorful fruit tray or casserole in a bright dish makes the table pop on its own. And most importantly, never forget that the best centerpiece isn’t something you buy. It’s the conversation and prayers that happen across the table.

These moments aren’t about perfection. They’re about presence. Nobody walks away talking about whether the napkins matched. They walk away talking about the friend who prayed with them, the laugh that came right when they needed it most, and the sense of belonging that wrapped around the room like sunshine through a window.

So call it Dollar Tree Chic if you want, but around here it’s not about what you spend, it’s about what you give. Your time. Your prayers. Your listening ear. That’s what turns an ordinary brunch into holy ground, where friendships deepen and faith grows stronger.

Turns out, being a boss babe who brunches was never about the brunch. It was about the community it creates.

Here are a few of my favorite Dollar Tree Chic brunch tips:

  • Set the table: Don’t stress over big, fussy centerpieces. A few simple place settings make the table look full and inviting.

  • Lean on seasonal touches: Swap in napkins, paper plates, or little décor pieces that match the season—pumpkins in the fall, florals in the spring.

  • Let the food double as décor: A colorful fruit tray or casserole in a bright dish can make the table pop without extra expense.

  • Focus on fellowship: The best centerpiece isn’t something you buy—it’s the conversation and prayers that happen across the table.
