A mermaid looks at 30

"As a coastal Georgia girl, I've learned that when life gives you hurricanes, you make hurricane-themed margaritas and party like it's 1999.

But as a mermaid looking at 30 with excitement and terror, I've realized that sometimes you must weather the storm and embrace the unknown depths of the sea. It's all about finding the balance between riding the waves and diving deep into uncharted waters. I realize it's time to trade my seashells for a more grown-up vibe. Who am I kidding? It's funny just thinking about it. I'll always be a coastal girl, but it's time to mix things up and add a little variety to my beachy lifestyle. Embracing change and growth doesn't mean losing my sense of fun and adventure; it just means evolving into a more well-rounded mermaid. I'll still be collecting seashells and chasing sunsets. It's about enhancing my coastal roots while also expanding my horizons. I may be a mermaid at heart, but I'm ready to make waves in new waters. It may be time to stop chasing the sunset and start building my own path. After all, as the saying goes, 'You can't stay on the beach forever,' but you can take a little extra time to enjoy the view before you go. And as Jimmy would say, 'Take a little time to chew a little bit of juicy fruit; it's good for the soul, and right now, I need all the soul-nourishing I can get! Because, let's face it, I am a woman who has mastered the art of surfing life while learning self-love and still manages to look stunning in the process. And who knows? One day, I will locate the misplaced salt shaker at the party. However, I will continue to dance into the endless summer. Life is too short not to savor every moment and appreciate the beauty around us. So take that extra time, chew that juicy fruit, and keep surfing through life with self-love and grace. Remember, life is a journey, not a destination. Embrace the ups and downs, knowing that each wave brings new opportunities for growth and self-discovery, and know that you can overcome any challenge that comes your way.
